ELIGIBILITY TO APPLY:

Candidate

  • Must reside in the Nepean riding of Hon. Chandra Arya MP, the sponsor for the jobs. No exceptions will be made to this rule.

  • Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the starting date of the employment

Preferred Skills and Knowledge

Self-driven individual with a motivated personality and takes initiative

Experience in a professional setting is highly desirable

Able to prepare reports / articles / compositions

Excellent research skills

Has an affinity for creativity

Proficient in MS Office Suite, Google Suite, and Virtual platforms

CBMS Website development /enhancement, editing contents, creating video, integrating Video and Audio,

WordPress for Web CMS editing, a desirable asset

Communication skills, creative writing, preparing fundraising brochures, etc.,

Knowledge about programming languages such as CSS, HTML,& Java scripts,

Social Media content enhancement in CBMS Facebook and Youtube.

JOB ASSIGNMENTS / PROJECTS

Assignment #1: Research Archivist

Stakeholder Database

  • Update – Donors and Guests Lists by contacting donors and guests

Research

  • Research on selected topic(s) to be published and shared with the Bangladeshi community (research topic to be finalized in collaboration with supervisor)
  • Conduct literature review, develop methodology and conduct analysis
  • Develop a poster to present the research findings in a digestible format

Office Documentation

  • Develop agenda and minutes for each CBMS Executive Committee meeting
  • Migrate all electronic documents to the email drive and maintain organized files

Other Projects

  • Incumbent may be assigned projects/tasks/priorities in addition to the above-mentioned projects/tasks, as necessary

Assignment #2: Social Program Officer

Communication, Promotion and Fundraising

  • Update and refresh current social media platforms- website, Facebook
  • Promote CBMS activities through various social media channels
  • Support with the development of fundraising ideas and strategies and marketing campaigns

Annual Art Competition/Event

  • Support the Program Coordinator to organize the art competition held at a venue virtual
  • Engage in online publicity activities and follow-up on funding initiatives
  • Receive and digitize artwork submissions; arrange physical / virtual display of submissions
  • Execute specific task assigned during the artwork review process, virtual announcements of winners and award ceremony
  • Engage and recruit volunteers, if required for various tasks

Office Documentation

  • Develop a working ‘Terms of Reference’ and ‘project charters’ for the various CBMS Program Working Committee and related activities
  • Draft official job descriptions/task summaries of CBMS Executive Committee Members (which includes conducting interviews of all EC members)

Other Projects

  • Incumbent may be assigned projects / tasks / priorities in addition to the above-mentioned projects / tasks, as necessary

WORKING ARRANGEMENT

Place of work

  • Incumbent’s residence, which must be located in riding of MP Chandra Arya

Monitoring Mechanism

  • It is expected the incumbent will work from home
  • Incumbent must submit weekly report to their Supervisor detailing hours worked and tasks completed
  • Incumbent must be available to meet with their supervisor on a weekly or bi-weekly basis to track progress and discuss tasks
  • Priorities of the assignments will be at the discretion of the Supervisor and new tasks not listed herein may be assigned
  • Assigned tasks will be completed by the end of the employment period so that the Supervisor may sign off the completion form
  • Testimonial or Reference letter will be provided upon successful completion of assigned tasks/projects

Employment Duration and Compensation

  • Positions are for the summer period between July 2022 to September 2022

The total compensation for each student is $4200

35h/week for up to 8 weeks; rate of pay=$15.00/h

  • Effective dates will be determined once the incumbent is selected
  • Overall performance of the candidate will be assessed by the Supervisor(s) throughout the duration of the work period. Final evaluation and reference(s) will be provided based on the candidate’s performance.
